Recalling a troubled time in her life, Portia de Rossi recently opened up about a severe eating disorder she once faced.
Sitting down with Oprah, the ?Arrested Development? actress revealed that she went to extremes to stay thin during her stint on ?Ally McBeal,? admitting that she would only eat 300 calories a day.
"There is a point where a diet becomes a disorder. It's a gradual thing," she said.
Portia dished that she started dieting at age 12 when she began modeling, and resorted to laxatives and diuretics to get the weight off.
Remembering that time in her life, De Rossi added that she would?ve preferred to die, ?literally die, than fail another diet." The actress said it wasn't until she collapsed on a movie set that she realized she had a problem.
